Built in the trades. Refined through leadership.
Dom’s credibility does not come from collecting titles. It comes from living the progression so many leaders in the trades experience for themselves.
Dominic Carr grew up around the trades. Plumbing was not something he discovered later. It was part of his world from the beginning. Watching, helping, learning, and absorbing the realities of the work shaped how he sees people, responsibility, and leadership.
Over time, that exposure became a career path. He developed through hands-on roles in plumbing and HVAC, then stepped into supervision, management, and operational leadership. As his responsibility grew, so did his awareness of a common problem: companies promote strong performers and expect them to know how to lead, develop, and align people without ever teaching them how.
That gap became personal. Dom saw firsthand what happens when technical skill outpaces leadership development. Pressure rises. Communication weakens. Good people get mislabeled. Managers end up carrying more than they should because they do not yet know how to create ownership in others.
That is the space where Dom now works. Through P2L Academy™, he helps people move from doing the work well to leading people well — with more clarity, more integrity, and less force.
What makes Dom different
- He teaches from lived experience, not borrowed language.
- He understands the tension between production and people development.
- He believes leadership starts with identity before tactics.
- He helps people lead without becoming someone they do not respect.
- He works to create alignment, not just compliance.
